Trust is not something that is given it's developed. Through the years I ask myself what has been my most difficult challenge. If the truth be told it's in trusting God. Sometimes things comes in my life and appears one way to ME, but God can be using it for a vehicle of change or to challenge me in the area of my trusting Him. Losing myself in God means allowing myself to go where He leads. The problem that I often face is thinking or believing that it is suppose to be a particular way. That's when my way of thinking, reasoning, and perspective becomes a problem. God continues to challenge me in trusting Him in where He is taking me. What appears to be a storm to me can actually be a means of God taking me towards an opportunity if I allow myself to be driven by trusting Him. I can choose to run for the oppositions, challenges or difficulties that come my way or I can choose to get in the eye of the storm by trusting God. God will work out the outcome for me in His favor which will display His power, and glory. I must die to my agenda, my way, and believe that God is taking me to a much brighter future or place. It's very sad when we give up or walk away, because it's just not going the way that we would like it. What's funny when I really get honest is that God is more concern with developing my character than the challenge itself. The door usually opens when my character aligns itself up the opportunity. Why try to kick the door in when God will open it when I am ready. Some people look at a situation as a storm while others an opportunity. I believe the difference lies within our perspective of who God is. God continues to navigate me through as the responsibility level increases, and as He takes me to new places.

In The Eye Of The Storm
Everything was closed today, and I was someone excited, but didn't want to miss the opportunity for additional income. I decided that since a storm was going to be coming to town, I would take advantage of this and get into the eye of the storm, and use the time for reflection, down time, and working on myself, and projects. It turned out to be quiet, and I must say very needed. All storms are not bad when I take the advantage of getting in the eye. The eye of the storm is the place where everything is calm. It was calm in my life today even though a storm was taking place around me. I used Hurrican Sandy to teach me a life lesson today. All storms are not bad, but can hange the direction of your life, or give you an opportunity of reflection, and rest and relaxation.

My Determined Purpose
This past month a catastrophic storm blew in my life, and shook me to the core of my being. I thought that I have been through the biggest storm of my life, until this past month. The circumstance completely caught me off guard, and I found myself losing my joy, and fire for God. I decided physically that I was walking away from ministry, and helping others, but deep within I felt the love of God ministering, and loving me. God has blessed me with some remarkable friends that has been loving, and encouraging me. I realized one valuable lesson from this test of faith. At some point in life we have to make a decision that we are going to move forward and live out our dreams regardless the cost. "My Determined Purpose" is not comfort, a lavish lifestyle, a mega ministry, but to know and become more like Christ. We do incredible things and rise above the circumstances of life through our relationship with Christ. We forget ourselves which allows God to work through us to reach the world for Him.

Get Out The Boat
I think about Peter in the Gospels of how he was the only one of the 12 disciples willing to get out of the boat. I was doing well for sometime, but found himself beginning to glance at the storm around him, and began to sink. He sank because he took his eyes off Jesus. Every so often I find myself look at the things around me, and talking my focus off of Jesus. I begin to sink focusing on my struggles, circumstances, and obstacles, and forgetting about the great and mighty power of God. It a wonderful lesson that we can learn about keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. God says that His grace is sufficient no matter the circumstance. I am blessed to have some wonderful people in my life that helps me navigate back on course with my focus. You can learn some remarkable things about friends, and life when a storm blows into your life. Today I will fix my eyes on Jesus.
