On September 1st of this year God blessed me with an opportunity that I had on my heart for years. Opening a barber shop/hair salon. Over the summer I was blessed with this opportunity, and much work has gone into it. The investment of time, money, hard work, and working with others has been an enormous challenge that I have had to face. Giving people opportunities only to discovery that they want a hand out. One thing that God has reinforced through this new venture is that many opportunities does present itself, but people are not willing to do the work required or stay dedicated to the task at hand. Last night I got home early from all my daily activities, and as I sat down my cell phone rang from a 800 number that I didn't recognize. The number called, back, and I refused to answer because I was going to take this opportunity to rest. The same number called on a friend of mine, and I thought to myself may I need to see what's going on. I come to find out that someone had broken into the barber shop/hair salon(Kingdom Kutz & Hair Salon). I got dressed went over to discover that someone had through a brick through the front door window trying to steal a 40inch television. I didn't get upset, but realized that anytime you are pressing forward to do some worthy cause to assist others the enemy will always come up against your cause. Over the years I have learned that the opposition is actually telling you that you are moving in the right direction. Why would the enemy even be bring opposition to someone already on his team. Today I was bless to have the repairs done, and the shop looks even better than before. Actually it's even more secure now. What seemed as a terrible situation turned out in my favor as the hand of God moved like He always do. They broke in my place, but was unable to take anything.

The Benefit of Oppostion
Can I speak with you honestly for a moment? I have said that I wanted God to bless me with a ministry that would assist others, but I didn't honestly think about the price that I would have to pay to reach those goals. I realize that I can't approach accomplishing my dreams like most people do. I have to work harder, sleep much less, and exert myself in all areas to be the best that I can possibly be. I have faced great opposition, but what has astonished me is that with each opposition that I eventually overcome I have grown by leaps and bounds. I have learned that giving up is not something that I can afford to even have in my vocabulary these days. I don't like much of the things that I face, but I am not talking about liking things, but pressing forward regardless of what it looks like, or feel. At the end of the day I have failed more than I have been successful, but eventually those failures teach me the very lesson that takes me higher. Opposition I don't like it, but it's a teacher like no other. If I want to improve my life, ministry, relationships, and walk with God than opposition is the tool that will be used more often than I would like. We may not be able to direct the wind, but with prayer I can make the necessary adjustment to the sale.

Calm In The Storm "Navigating My Way Through"
Trust is not something that is given it's developed. Through the years I ask myself what has been my most difficult challenge. If the truth be told it's in trusting God. Sometimes things comes in my life and appears one way to ME, but God can be using it for a vehicle of change or to challenge me in the area of my trusting Him. Losing myself in God means allowing myself to go where He leads. The problem that I often face is thinking or believing that it is suppose to be a particular way. That's when my way of thinking, reasoning, and perspective becomes a problem. God continues to challenge me in trusting Him in where He is taking me. What appears to be a storm to me can actually be a means of God taking me towards an opportunity if I allow myself to be driven by trusting Him. I can choose to run for the oppositions, challenges or difficulties that come my way or I can choose to get in the eye of the storm by trusting God. God will work out the outcome for me in His favor which will display His power, and glory. I must die to my agenda, my way, and believe that God is taking me to a much brighter future or place. It's very sad when we give up or walk away, because it's just not going the way that we would like it. What's funny when I really get honest is that God is more concern with developing my character than the challenge itself. The door usually opens when my character aligns itself up the opportunity. Why try to kick the door in when God will open it when I am ready. Some people look at a situation as a storm while others an opportunity. I believe the difference lies within our perspective of who God is. God continues to navigate me through as the responsibility level increases, and as He takes me to new places.

The Enemy Whispers
If you are striving to achieve anything of a worthy cause you can best believe that the enemy will bring about opposition to keep you from advancing forward. A huge plight of mine is to continue to grow in the wisdom of God, and advance my technology skillset which will assist me in helping others to discovery God, grow personally, and advance their businesses or ministries. I have made significant advancement, but I am learning that there is a price to pay if you are in the business of Kingdom agenda. This past week the devil was about his business as usual whispering deceptive lies to discourage me as new opportunities are opening up. Why are you even wasting your time with what you are doing? No one cares about this God stuff. You care more about people than they do about you. Everyone is out for self while you want to help people. The list goes on and on, but this is my point. If I take the time to listen to this nonsense that the devil whispers from time to time he'll have me believing that I can't do what it is that God has called me to do. Honestly I have fell for those whispers before and forfeited my blessing only to have to come back to that same point to face that challenge again. The enemy at times bombards our mind with worthless lies to sabotage our dreams, and destiny. I want to encourage someone today to don't believe that lies, and continue striving, seeking God, believing in your dreams or vision, and know that God will provide you with the means to take you to the place that He has predestined for you.

Opposition
Dear Friends,
I moved to Wilmington, Delaware approximately one year ago and finding myself starting over in a new town knowing very few people. My heart was determined to make this my best efforts ever as I had faced some disaster through a marital separation and divorce. I finally learned to take my pain, and use it as a time of reflection to assist me in my efforts to restart my life. In a short period of time through the blessing of God I have gain tremendous advancement in business, ministry, and my personal life. Opportunities has opened up, and my dreams are coming true that I thought was lost. I share my story today in hopes that it will encourage someone that has suffered any type of defeat in life encouraging them that they can get up, and begin again. What I lost now I see as a gain, as I took the time to evaluate my life so that I would not make the same mistakes again. What I found as my weakness now has become my strength. My strength today is in trusting God, and knowing that without Him I can't make it. How do I know this? I know this because the pressures, opposition, and life challenges cause me to become fearful, and run from God and my vision instead of turning to him. I have learned that I can't allow anything to get in the way of my relationship with God, and distract me from the journey that God has me on. I only need to know that God will take our failures, and use them as the greatest teaching method in our lives. If we trust God enough to get up and pursue Him, not so much our dream He will bring the pieces of the puzzle together. God will send people, resources, and blessing our way that you never dreamed of. He will catch you up with your dream or vision, and as you have the courage to get up and move forward you will find remarkable strength and courage to face the things that ran you off in the first place. Will the opposition stop by no means, but my resolve and approach to these difficulties has changed. How do you know that you are journeying in the right direction? You will know because opposition will stare you in the face, and dare you to move forward and trust God.

"Are You Willing To Do The Work?"
Dear Friends,
The question that I ask myself daily is am I willing to do the work. Am I willing to pay the price to get to where God wants to take me. Some days I feel the opposition, and want to run and hide, but the God in me reminds me that it's only a test of my faith and I am to remain still, and continue pressing forward. I remind myself that what I do not have doesn't matter, because I have God in my corner. I believe we say this so loosely with our mouth, but there comes a time in our lives that we will be tested to see if this is really what we believe. I realize more than ever today that I can not live a life that I have not developed on the inside. The pressures of life brings out what lies within. I am discovering something very remarkable. True heroes face challenges, disappointment, failure, ridicule, but they rise above how they may be feeling. They trust God regardless of feelings; the way a situation may look, or what the majority is saying around them. We must pursue our dreams or vision with a resolve and confidence in God that draws the blessing and favor of God our way. Finances are low, changes on my job, uncertainty about new business and clients, but who has written the script - God. If God has written the script of my life I must trust Him with where He is taking me, and how He wants to do it. I write this blog today facing some personal challenges, but what has me motivated, and focused is that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above what I think or ask. What's the bottom line? It's God's show and not mine. "Are You Willing To Do The Work?" If we are determined to press forward and do the work our God will gives the increase in due season.
