"I Can Succeed"

Success is not something we obtain because we have an idea.  Success is not something we gain because we have money or social status.  Success first is obtained within a man, and then is displayed in how he lives.  How can we build anything without first building ourselves?  So many of look at success as having a business, or ministry - something tangible.  Never to realize that our influence on others is in how we live.  Think of it this way - the challenges of greatness or influence is never against an organization, ministry, or business, but against the management, organizational structure or individual itself.  So many of us fail to reach our goals because they only focus on building the business, but forget about building themselves.  The opportunities will come our way, and we want to be prepared when they do come.  Regardless of the size of the project we need to approach it with commitment, integrity, and a resolve that stands out.  It begins with our presentation, and that starts with our character.  We can be successful today, and it all begins with how we approach our goals by starting with the person within.

Opposition

Dear Friends,

I moved to Wilmington, Delaware approximately one year ago and finding myself starting over in a new town knowing very few people.  My heart was determined to make this my best efforts ever as I had faced some disaster through a marital separation and divorce.  I finally learned to take my pain, and use it as a time of reflection to assist me in my efforts to restart my life.  In a short period of time through the blessing of God I have gain tremendous advancement in business, ministry, and my personal life.  Opportunities has opened up, and my dreams are coming true that I thought was lost.  I share my story today in hopes that it will encourage someone that has suffered any type of defeat in life encouraging them that they can get up, and begin again.  What I lost now I see as a gain, as I took the time to evaluate my life so that I would not make the same mistakes again.  What I found as my weakness now has become my strength.  My strength today is in trusting God, and knowing that without Him I can't make it.  How do I know this?  I know this because the pressures, opposition, and life challenges cause me to become fearful, and run from God and my vision instead of turning to him.  I have learned that I can't allow anything to get in the way of my relationship with God, and distract me from the journey that God has me on.  I only need to know that God will take our failures, and use them as the greatest teaching method in our lives.  If we trust God enough to get up and pursue Him, not so much our dream He will bring the pieces of the puzzle together.  God will send people, resources, and blessing our way that you never dreamed of.  He will catch you up with your dream or vision, and as you have the courage to get up and move forward you will find remarkable strength and courage to face the things that ran you off in the first place.  Will the opposition stop by no means, but my resolve and approach to these difficulties has changed.  How do you know that you are journeying in the right direction?  You will know because opposition will stare you in the face, and dare you to move forward and trust God.

"Are You Willing To Do The Work?"

Dear Friends,

The question that I ask myself daily is am I willing to do the work.  Am I willing to pay the price to get to where God wants to take me.  Some days I feel the opposition, and want to run and hide, but the God in me reminds me that it's only a test of my faith and I am to remain still, and continue pressing forward.  I remind myself that what I do not have doesn't matter, because I have God in my corner.  I believe we say this so loosely with our mouth, but there comes a time in our lives that we will be tested to see if this is really what we believe.  I realize more than ever today that I can not live a life that I have not developed on the inside.  The pressures of life brings out what lies within.  I am discovering something very remarkable.  True heroes face challenges, disappointment, failure, ridicule, but they rise above how they may be feeling.  They trust God regardless of feelings; the way a situation may look, or what the majority is saying around them.   We must pursue our dreams or vision with a resolve and confidence in God that draws the blessing and favor of God our way.  Finances are low, changes on my job, uncertainty about new business and clients, but who has written the script - God.  If God has written the script of my life I must trust  Him with where He is taking me, and how He wants to do it.  I write this blog today facing some personal challenges, but what has me motivated, and focused is that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above what I think or ask.    What's the bottom line?  It's God's show and not mine.  "Are You Willing To Do The Work?"  If we are determined to press forward and do the work our God will gives the increase in due season.

Wake Up Call

Do you have a dream inside you that you have been pondering pursuing?  Sometimes we don't bother to pursue our dreams because of some many determining factors, but it seems as if the dream does not go away.  I think one the biggest dream killers it that we need to just begin where we are and stop thinking that we need so many things to get started.  In 2004 God placed in my heart to start a ministry.  I thought to myself that this can't be.  I don't have any money, schooling, or skill set to accomplish this.  Wrong!  We must remember that wherever God guides He provides.  I started the ministry with what I had.  I found passion and joy in what I did regardless of the size.  As I continued to move forward to my amazement God began to piece everything together, and I found myself doing things that I never dreamed I could do.  Wake Up my dear friends, and start that business; enroll into school; pursue a trade or endeavor that burns within you.  I still don't know much, but I do know this - if you have the courage to start it, God will finish it.

Managing Your Life

If we are not careful life has a strange way of taking over your life, and can began to overwhelm or run you.  I believe that the most challenging endeavor in life is learning how to manage the many task that are before us.  Work, children, projects, finances, and spiritual nourishment are all part of our responsibilities.  How do we manage all these different responsibilities without becoming consumed or overwhelmed?  Learning to prioritize what's most important is a great start.  I find my days are most successful when I address my spiritual man first thing in the morning.  When I feed this side of me it has a remarkable way of centering me in what's most important, and keeps me from becoming entangled in the areas which I really don't have any control.  Did I say control?  That's the place that I need to stay away from.  The only thing that I do have control over is myself, and how I react or respond to the things or situations around me.  The bible speaks of not worrying.  Worry divides the mind, and we find ourselves not trusting God, but allowing the things around us to steal our peace, and joy.  Daily reflection and introspection within myself keeps me centered in the things that are most important, and allows me to operate in a healthy manner.  The most definitive element of life resides in knowing when to let go of things that keeps us from spiritual growth and development.  The bottom line rests in trusting God, and understanding that life is a continual process of evaluation, and accepting whatever God shows us that needs to be changed in our lives.  Managing our lives is a perpetual reflection of self, and cleaning the areas of our lives that needs to be addressed.

Never Giving Up

I have not blogged in some time, but I am going to start back blogging daily like its a journal, and all who want to embark on this journey of discover with me is welcome to join in.  I want to discuss giving up today.  God has been gracious, and merciful to me in many ways, but in spite of the greatest of blessing I find myself wanting to at times give up and walk away.    My strength is not from myself, but from God.  If I begin relying on self I eventually become discouraged, but when I seek God daily I am renewed in spirit, mind, and body.  I have been around long enough to know that when I become entangled with self, or things of the world they will leave me paralyzed or defeated.  My success is contingent on me seeking God, and trusting Him.  I can't speak for others, but when God brings you out of some dramatic experiences you learn that your hope is in Him.  Call me a Jesus freak if you want, but I know that at one point this guy was lost in a world that could care less.  My point and message to myself is Kenneth Wilkins let recharge, and continue in the race.  I want to remind any readers of my blogs that I am here opening up letting you in on my thoughts, concerns, and burdens.  My prayer is that we may join in together on this journey of hope, inspiration, and live out our lives to be all that we can be.
